Abstract : Handwritten character recognition (HCR) has become a well-known field of study. HCR and OCR have a
specific domain to be used. The recognition of Alphabets that are handwritten text has been studied in the past years. Today,
various recognition methods are mainly used for handwritten Alphabets (character) recognition. The information from data
entry, checks, loan applications, health insurance forms, and other documents can be mined using HCR for digital document
processing. An overview of recent research on handwritten alphabet recognition will be given in this survey. There is no
limit on the writing method in manuscripts. It is difficult to recognize handwritten alphabets due to various human
handwriting techniques and differences in the size, shape, and angle of the letters. Various recognition methods for
handwritten text are provided here alongside their performance.
