Paper Title
Development of a Lower Back Assist Mechanism that Does Not Interfere with the Wearer's Movement Using the Spring
Abstract
In this paper, we propose an assist mechanism that uses spring force to reduce the burden on the lower back
without interfering with the movement of the wearer. Even with today's advances in mechanization and automation, there
is a lot of heavy work for human so the method is needed that the burden on the lower back. We considered the need to
assist with forces applied horizontally against the lumbar vertebrae. The proposed device reduced the load from 161.4Nm
to 79.7Nm, and reduced the load on the lower back by 50.6% when holding a 20kg heavy object. The proposed device has
a rotation angle range of 88.6 degrees, which is 2.74 times greater than that of the previous device.
