Paper Title
Determination of Benzene and Methyl-Tert-Butyl Ether (MTBE) Content in Gasoline Fuel by Partial Least Square Regression Applied to FTIR Spectra
Abstract
The pollution created by blending of chemical compounds in gasoline fuel is one of the major concerns in
nowadays, a mixture of over 200-derived chemical compounds is found in gasoline. As a result of the obvious direct impact
on quality affected by blended compounds, fuel quality assurance has already become extremely important. The current
study describes the determination of blended compoundsin gasoline within thestate of Mizoramsamples. Principal
Component Analysis (PCA)and Partial Least Squared Regression(PLSR) approaches were used to evaluate a total of 177
samples. Therefore, the PLSR with high R-square and RMSEC significance values are used to quantify the samples. In
addition, the PLSRwith high accuracy in validation is reliable for the present work.
