Paper Title
The Mechanical Properties Of Rubberwood Particleboards Bonded With Different Resin Type At Different Loaded Density

Abstract
The objective of this study is to investigate the mechanical properties of different resin type at different loaded density. The particle used was rubber wood at 20 to 30 mesh screened particle. The density of board is various at 550 kgm-3 750 kgm-3 and 950 kgm-3 at loaded density. The resin content used which is urea formaldehyde (UF) and melamine urea formaldehyde (MUF) were set at 10% resin content. Hardener was added at 1% during the mixing process. The particleboards stored in a conditioning chamber set at 20±2˚C and 65% relative humidity before testing procedure was done. The testing procedure followed the EN Standard of specifications. The results indicated increases across the board physical and mechanical properties with higher board density. The highest modulus of rupture (MOR) and modulus of elasticity (MOE) value achieved in this study are 33.188 Nmm-2 and 4011.573 Nmm-2 which is rubberwood bonded with UF at 950 kgm-3 also with highest value for internal bonding which is 1.292 Nmm-2 . Both boards with different resin type at density at 750 kgm-3 and 950 kgm-3 met the standard requirement according to the stated. In conclusion the board density and resin type applied to the manufacturing of rubberwood particleboards influenced the board in terms of its mechanical properties.
