Paper Title
Synthesis, Structure and Spectroscopic Properties of a Benzoxazole Derivative and its Complexes With Palladium(II) and Zinc(II)
Abstract
Benzoxazoles are an important heterocyclic compounds found in natural products and show pharmacological
applications. A wide range of literature is available regarding benzoxazoles and their application as ligands in coordination
chemistry.
In this study, new benzoxazole ligand (2,6-bis ((benzoxazol-2-ylthiomethyl) pyridine) and its coordination compounds were
obtained from 2-mercaptobenzoxazole and pyridine based compound with transition metal ions. Coordination compounds of
2,6-bis((benzoxazol-2- ylthiomethyl) pyridine were obtained with the reaction of this ligand and zinc(II) and palladium(II)
metal salts. The structures of synthesised ligand and their complexes will be enlightened by using data obtained from Q-TOF
MS, IR, 1 H, 13 C spectrums and elementel analysis.
