Abstract : Though Cloud Computing has become an emerging technology; still it cannot be used by everyone due to lack of data confidentiality when stored on cloud. Also while performing computation on data, it requires decrypting data before any computation. If the cloud provider is not trusted this may violate data confidentiality. We can ensure the confidentiality of data and computation on cloud using homomorphic encryption. In this paper, we described how homomorphic encryption helps to ensure data confidentiality.
