Abstract : Development of agro-specific big data technology is a necessary supplement to adoption of general big data
technology. In this paper we have discussed about the general characteristics and relation of big data, the specific features of
agro-geoinformatics and agro-geodata. Agro-geoinformatics deals with collecting, managing, analyzing agricultural-related
geospatial data, which are domain-specific big data. Development of agro-specific big data technology proves to be a good
strategy for applying big data technology in agro-geoinformatics.
