Abstract : This research involves synthesis of some chalcones derivatives from 4-hydroxyacetophenone as starting material : The derivatives of chalcone compounds [A,B and C] has been prepared by reaction benzaldehyde derivatives like [N,N-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde,3-methoxy4-hydroxybenzaldehyde,4-bromobenzaldehyde] with 4-hydroxyacetophenone .the compound [A,B and C ] derivatives. These compounds [A, B and C ] has been characterized by melting points, [FT.IR] spectroscopy and thin layer chromatography technique (TLC) has been used for reactions steps and sequence by using solvent [benzene : methanol, 4:1]. Biological activity test for three derivative compounds was done according to antibacterial activity test against two multi-drug resistance aerobic pathogenic bacteria: Escherichia coli (E.coli) as gram negative bacteria and Staphylococcus aureus (S.aureus) as gram positive bacteria with four concentrations (50, 100, 150 and 200 mg/ml) for each derivative compounds. The derivative compound C with concentration 200 mg/ml had best antibacterial effect against E.coli and S.aureus with inhibition zone diameters 18.383 ± 0.45182 and 16.700 ± 0.26457, respectively. Keywords - 4-hydroxyacetophenon, Chalcones, Biological Activity, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Iraq
