mellitus management practices in selected hospital in Kenya. The study was carried out at the outpatient diabetic clinics of
Kenyatta National Hospital and MP Shah Hospital. This was a causal comparative research study design with application of
quantitative and collect data. Twenty-one (21) healthcare providers (HCPs) with an average age of 42.5 years were studied,
eleven (11) HCPs from Kenyatta National Hospital and ten (10) HCPs from MP Shah Hospital. There was positive
correlation with significant association of verbal language use on diabetes mellitus management practices overall [β 0.56
(95% CI 0.10, 1.01), p= 0.019]; at KNH [β 1.17 (95% CI 0.54, 1.81), p= 0.004] and not at MP Shah Hospital [β 0.24 (95%
CI -1.38, 1.86), p= 0.718]. The null hypothesis was rejected overall and at KNH while there was failure to reject the null
hypothesis at qualitative methodology. A self-administered questionnaire for healthcare providers was used to MP Shah
Hospital. Therefore, there was significant effect of verbal language use on diabetes mellitus management practices in Kenya
