Parameter Estimation in Anaerobic Digestion Processes of Fruit and Vegetable Waste

In this work, inverse problem of the anaerobic digestion processes of fruit and vegetable waste and sludge from biogas plant is considered. The Lavenberg-Marquardt method was applied to solve this problem. A model based on the work of Grau et al. (1975) was applied to simulate the processes. The laboratory experiment was carried out to obtain an accumulated concentration of methane which then used to obtain the kinetic parameters from the proposed model. The model was tested with the experimental data. This work was done with the aim to chose appropriate models to explain the methane generation process from the fruit and vegetable waste.
