Use Of Programmable Logic Controller For Material Handling

Abstract
This paper presents the automation of Boom conveyor of a Stacker cum Reclaimer machine using a programmable logic controller. The Simatic S7-300 series programmable logic controller is used to automate the system. Sensors such as zero speed switch, belt sway switch, pull chord switch, chute block switch are used to provide input to the system. The motors serve as the output of the system.
