Detection Of Food Contamination By Machine Vision
Abstract- With increased expectation of high quality and safety in food products, this paper presents a novel method of
detecting contamination in bakery food products by image processing and machine vision technology. Machine vision
includes the capturing of images, processing and analysing images and hence the assessment of visual quality characteristics
in food product by non-destructive method is made feasible. A Thermal Imager (TI) is used to capture the image of the food
product. This project not only aims to detect contamination but also to estimate the shelf life of food products. This will
reduce the wastage of the food product during storage time and also prevents food borne illness.
