Abstract : This paper proposes a robust and flexible controller for multi-channel neuromuscular current stimulator chip.
The design supports various modes of operations, including housekeeping modes, debugging modes and finally stimulation
control modes. For debugging, it is able to monitor internal operating nodes and long-term data transmission bit error rates.
For simulation control, it is capable of storing pre-defined stimulation patterns and controls eight individual channels
simultaneously. The design was implemented and verified using standard 0.18 um/ 1.8 V CMOS process. Finally it was
integrated in a neuromuscular SoC with completed analog front-end and wireless power harvesting circuit.
