Abstract : underwater monitoring systems have become a popular topic amongst those who share the same great interest in the health and the well-being of the sea and the things in it. Living here in the Pacific, the sea is of great importance is it is one of the main sources of livelihood. Therefore, in recent times, much research, time and resources have been invested in preserving the sea and its life forms for the generations to come. In this paper, we discuss the design and implementation an underwater monitoring device that is traceable with easy access and retrieval to and from the sea water. Index Terms - Oceanographic data collection, sensor networks, underwater acoustic communication.
