Paper Title
Modeling And Analysis Of Process Parameters Of Die Sinking EDM On En 31 Tool Steel
Abstract
The costly operation of non-traditional machining necessitates that process should run at optimum condition. By
proper controlling on the process parameters we can reach a point at which material removal rate(MRR) can be maximum
and electrode wear rate(EWR) can be minimum. In this study three input process parameters, viz., discharge current, voltage
and pulse on time at three different levels are taken. Experiments have been conducted on a Oscar Max die-sinking electric
discharge machine with work piece material as EN 31 tool steel and electrode of pure copper. A regression model is
developed for each output response viz. MRR and EWR. The contribution of each process parameter for influencing output
response was analyzed through ANOVA tables.
