Paper Title
Environmental and Economic Assessment of Photovoltaic Module-Driven Air-Cooled Chiller with Thermal Storage Tank

Abstract
Abstract - Growing CO2 levels, global warming, ozone depletion, and growing fossil fuel costs have shifted focus to renewable technologies such as solar, wind, and thermal storage. At peak hours, the performance of an air-cooled chiller powered by a photovoltaic (PV) system is investigated using TRANSYS. Excess electricity was transferred from peak to off peak hours using a thermal storage tank. Excess electricity was moved from on-peak to off-peak times using a thermal storage tank.In the presented case, The pv system modules and storage tank capacity were estimated to satisfy the whole yearly need of the air-cooled chiller, guaranteeing that the chiller is totally supplied by the PV and thermal storage tank. The environmental analysis shows an 89.5% decrease in CO2 emissions, while the economic feasibility assessment shows an expected return of 12.5 years and a profit of $4,206.
