3D Printing of Micro needle Arrays: Investigating Material Properties and Drug Release

Abstract
Abstract - As trailblazers of minimally invasive injection procedures, microneedles arrays (MNAs) have emerged for biomedical applications ranging from sampling body fluids to drug delivery platforms. Here, we fabricated MNAs with 3D printing technology using five different materials. We investigated the properties enabled by each MNA and presented a material selection guide for specific purposes. Finally, we coated a model drug on our MNAs and monitored its release as a proof-of-concept for drug delivery applications.
