Cybersecurity: Need of The Hour – A Survey

Abstract
The exponential growth of the internet and technologies have led to a noteworthy growth in cyber-attacks which have rather grave consequences. Newly emerging technologies have their characteristics and vulnerabilities, which lead to the development of new attacking techniques and the up-gradation of the existing ones. Also, known as IT security, Cybersecurity is not confined to networked systems and applications, it is the need of the hour to protect anything and everything that is connected to the internet as day by day the cybercriminals are being innovative too. With every passing day, we see cases of data breaches, identity thefts, and social engineering attacks including but not limited to any other sort of financial threats. In this paper, we have collected data on such a few techniques as industry 4.0, blockchain, IoT, etc. Then we have presented an overview of the emerging attacks. By the end of our research, we concluded awareness of the need for Cybersecurity is as important as its application in making various innovations more secure.
