Abstract : The deaf community faces numerous challenges and discrimination regularly in the society. The challenges and discrimination create obstacles for an inclusive society with full participation of deaf community. The research aims to shed light on the challenges and discrimination faced by deaf community in Kathmandu Metropolitan city. The study intents to create awareness and understanding by exploring the barriers and the impact on different aspects of life. In the study, mixed research methodology has been utilized. Qualitative and quantitative research methodology has been employed to delve into condition of deaf community and exploration on various dimension of barriers related to communication, employment, education, access in healthcare and public service. Moreover, quantitative analysis has been utilized to identify patterns and trends within the data and to explore relationships between variables. To capture the diversity within deaf community, demographic variables such as age and gender has been collected. A close ended questionnaire has been utilized to investigate experience, perception and the extend of challenges and discrimination. By exploring these challenges, the study advocates for systemic changes to promote accessibility, equality, and social justice for the deaf community. Finally, the research aims to foster a more inclusive society that recognizes and addresses the needs and aspirations of the deaf community in Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
