Paper Title
Performance And Comparative Analysis Of Distributed Energy Efficient Clustering Protocols In Wireless Sensor Networks
Abstract
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) consist of sensor nodes having limited amount of energy. Sensor nodes
sense the physical data i.e. temperature, humidity of particular area in which they are located and transmit this data to base
station that requires high energy consumption. In heterogeneous wireless sensor network, sensor nodes have different energy
levels. Various routing protocols have been proposed in this context getting energy efficiency in heterogeneous wireless
sensor network. Efficiency of WSNs varies as changing the heterogeneous parameters of sensor nodes. In this paper,
performance of various Distributed Energy- Efficient Clustering protocols i.e. DDEEC, EDEEC, TDEEC and TADEEC are
evaluated and comparatively analyzed under different scenarios. Performance of these protocols is observed on the basis of
some performance metrics which are stability period, network life time and throughput. MATLAB simulator tool has been
used for simulation of different scenario. TADEEC performs better than TDEEC and EDEEC in all scenarios. TDEEC
performs better than EDEEC in terms of stability period and network lifetime. EDEEC performs better than DDEEC in all
performance parameters under all scenarios. Performance of TADEEC is best among all these protocols in each performance
metrics under all different scenarios, while DDEEC performs least among these protocols.
