Abstract : There is scarcity of water in certain parts of the world and there is problem of flood in the other parts due to uneven distribution of rainfall and water bodies. The Indian Government has proposed a plan to resolve these problems by Interlinking of rivers whose estimated worth is approximately Rs. 10,00,000 crore. It is nearly 25% of the Indian Gross Domestic Product which is not feasible to sustain by the Indian Economy in the present scenario. This research presents a graphical model for interlinking of two major Indian rivers- Ganga (Sone) and Mahanadi. The people of Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Chattisgarh will be benefitted. Furthermore, Indian economy is expected to have a huge impact by the implementation of the river interlinking project. The linking of the major rivers will prove economically feasible if the same methodology is used. This seems to be the only alternative to solve the crucial problems pertaining to droughts and floods in the country and also, to meet the domestic water needs of the people. The same technique can be adopted for interlinking of rivers in any part of the world. Keywords - Interlinking, Graph theory, Economy
