Paper Title
Development of Smart Wheelchair for Safety System
Abstract
This paper describes a wheelchair that runs automatically with little to no human input or using touch and
joystick controls. Both elderly people and people with physical disabilities can use this method. The suggested system
consists of a wheelchair, a Touch controls Module (BT HC05 module), a Joystick Control Module (using Accelerometer
Sensor), and a Collision Avoidance Module (using Ultrasonic Sensor). The elderly and physically disabled often struggle to
move their wheelchairs on their own, but with the help of the suggested system, they will be able to access various rooms in
the house, such as the kitchen, living room, dining room, etc., using touch and joystick controls. The wheelchair moves in
accordance with the route and is able to avoid obstacles thanks to the controls' turn-by-turn instructions and automated
understanding of the destination. The physically disabled can live their daily lives as normal people with the help of this
method.
