Paper Title
Design and Development of Non – Metallic Testing Fixture for Radar Calibration and Evaluation by Experimental Method
Abstract
Jigs and fixtures play important role in manufacturing industries. Fundamental principle of fixture design is to
constraint six degrees of freedom by following 3-2-1 principle. Designer‘s responsibility is to reduce loading and unloading
time, ease of operations and assembly process. An effective fixture should improve accuracy, precision and increase
productivity in manufacturing. Fixtures aredevices toholdpart or components firmly and in-position during the assemblyand
testing process. In this paperfixture has been designed and developed, which is installed in the calibration setup and evaluated
by using experimental method, which are suitable for different shapes and sizes of bumper to reduce vibration in calibration.
Design consideration, Selection of the material, method of holding and results are discussed.
